Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) is a semiconductor based diode with laser beam emitting perpendicular to top surfaces. VCSEL are critical technologies used with existing and new components to run some of the complicated applications such as 3D facial recognition, 3D sensors, back camera with light detecting and ranging technology (LiDAR), automated driving technology, and high speed data communication such as 5G.
