Concrete Admixtures Market: Industry Perspective, Comprehensive Analysis and Forecast, 2015 – 2021

Report Code: ZMR-404 | Report Format : | Status : Upcoming |

Abstract

One of the main constituents in the construction materials is concrete. All types of construction works require concrete. Concrete provides strength and durability to the structure which is one of the main requirements for any constructional work. Concrete is made up of aggregate, water, sand, admixtures, and binder.

The admixtures of concrete consist of specialty chemical mixture which is used as an additive in concrete or cement. This enhances the physical and chemical properties such as functional, aesthetic, and design requirement of the structures. Concrete admixtures are used in almost every concrete structure such as industrial amenities, surface transportation infrastructure, social and commercial buildings, and various residential complexes. The benefits of using concrete admixtures are: they provide enhanced durability and color properties, improved strength of the structure, chemical resistance, and much more. One of the benefits of using concrete admixtures is that the requirement for cement and water is decreased. Superior surface finish and capability to resist harsh climatic conditions are also other advantages of concrete admixtures. There are two types of concrete admixtures: mineral admixture and chemical admixture.

The concrete admixtures market is segmented on the basis of application, type, and region. Based on the type, the global market is segmented as normal plasticizers, retarding agents, waterproofing agents, superplasticizers, accelerating agents, air-entraining agents, and others. Based on application, the concrete admixtures market is segmented into infrastructure, residential, and non-residential. Geographically, the global market is segmented into Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, Europe, and North and South America.

There is a huge development in the infrastructure industry in the developing countries giving a boost to the concrete admixture market. Urbanization is the main factor that is driving the market. Rising middle class has made the need for new residential and commercial properties. In developing countries, concrete admixtures have become a requirement for all the constructional works. These all factors are driving the concrete admixtures market growth globally. Lack of awareness and increased price of concrete admixtures may restrict the market growth in future.

Countries such as India and China have increased their quality in the civil structures owing to concrete admixtures. India and China are providing new market opportunities for the concrete admixtures market. Asia Pacific is the dominant region in the concrete admixtures market. This trend is further followed by North America and Europe.

Major companies dominating the global concrete admixtures market are SIKA AG, BASF SE, The Dow Chemical Company, Cemex S.A.B. De C.V., W.R. Grace & Co., Ashland Inc., Fosroc International Ltd., Rpm International Inc., Pidilite Industries, CICO Technologies Ltd., Chryso Sas, CEMEX S.A.B. de N.V., and Mapei South Africa (PTY) Ltd.
