Abstract

Lignosulfonates are nothing but anionic polyelectrolytes that are soluble in water. They are used in various applications like agrochemical, animal feed, oil and gas, construction, and gypsum board. Usually, lignosulfonate-based concrete admixtures are used as water reducing chemicals in the infrastructure industry. Water reducing chemicals reduce the actual requirement for water in concrete mixtures but the workability of the concrete is maintained.

One of the applications of lignosulfonates is pellets, which is an animal feed that is used widely. In the construction industry, it is used as plasticizers and superplasticizers. As plasticizers, lignosulfonates are gaining demand. Moreover, the development of the construction industry will help to boost the lignosulfonate-based concrete admixtures market.
